Night Out in the Parks

Night Out in the Parks provides world-class performances in Chicago’s neighborhood parks throughout the summer. There are 14 events scheduled at Rutherford-Sayre, Amundsen, Riis, and Bell Parks.   For more information on the more than 1,000 events cross Chicago visit the Night Out in the Park website.

Canciones de Cri-Cri at Riis
The Latin duo Gonza & Isa Cancion y Cuento performs children’s songs in Spanish from Mexico’s beloved “Cri-Cri,” the singing cricket created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler.

Movies in the Parks at Rutherford Sayre: Paddington
A young Peruvian bear travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he meets the kindly Brown family, who offers him a temporary haven.

Community Dance at Amundsen
The Design Dance community dance workshops are designed to engage children and adults in the unique experience of learning and sharing dance. At Amundsen Park, hip hop will be explored to reach a broad spectrum of Chicago community members.

WHEELJAM at Amundsen
CirquesExperience will take you for a spin! WHEELJAM focuses on gymnastic wheel work. You can choose from three levels: recreational, fitness, or if you are very determined, competitive. Cirques-style Gym Wheel and circus classes are available for kids, teens, and adults in several parks as well as different venues in Chicago.

Soundtracks brings all of the fun, excitement and entertainment of the movie to with a live performance by a band or other entertainers prior to the start of select Movie in the Parks showings. Chicago Shakes at Riis
Chicago’s favorite summer tradition, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks brings Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits, FREE FOR ALL, to 18 neighborhood parks. In this original production, Shakespeare’s characters and scenes are mashed-up with today’s popular music. From Romeo and Juliet to Macbeth, audiences will experience a lively medley of Shakespeare’s thrilling stories.
