Galewood Gazette, Winter 2010
The new Winter 2010 issue of the Galewood Gazette is here. The winter edition includes all the usual must-read event, club, church, seniors, and school information plus a few great special features: a look back at Galewood in the 60s and 70s by Mark Farina, a history of the Galewood public library by Tom Drebenstedt, and a profile of our librarian Carleen Merges by Maureen Connell. (Note that the library is currently temporarily housed at Rutherford-Sayre Field House, 6871 W. Belden Ave.)
The issue also lists several holiday charity initiatives in the neighborhood including the North Avenue Business Association Annual Food Drive, Galewood Community Church & the Young Adults Coat Drive, and local food pantries and pet shelters.
The Gazette is planning a special aldermanic election edition for January. If you’d like to suggest questions for the candidates, (or if you wish to subscribe to the Gazette by email) contact the Gazette via email or share events or local goings-on, email The Galewood Gazette staff. (Note, Galewood.net does not publish the Gazette, but we keep all the issues posted on our “Gazette” page with their permission.)
